About Vercorde

Vercorde, a collective of independent, committed mountain guides in the Vercors. Our philosophy: outdoor craftspeople, small groups, fair pay and respect for nature.

Outdoor craftspeople

Vercorde is first and foremost a collective of independent professionals who chose to join forces without giving up their freedom or their values. Climbing, caving and canyoning instructors, we share the same ground — the Vercors — and the same conviction: the outdoors must remain human, demanding and respectful.

Our philosophy

  • Small groups. We favour quality of guiding over quantity. You are never just a number.
  • Fair pay. 100% of what individuals are charged goes to the guide. For groups, only 7% covers the collective’s running costs.
  • Respect for the environment. Cliffs, caves and canyons are fragile places. We practise with care and pass on that respect.
  • Passion & commitment. We are outdoor activists: we love this land and work to keep it alive and preserved.

State-certified guides

Every activity is led by professionals holding the corresponding state qualifications, insured and trained in safety and rescue. You are in good hands, ready to experience the adventure with confidence.
