A world beneath our feet
The Vercors is a vast limestone water tower, carved with galleries, shafts and some of the largest underground rivers in Europe. Caving is the exploration of this silent, mineral world — far more accessible than you might think, for families and friends alike.
Our options
- Family discovery — A horizontal cave, accessible from age 6-8, to marvel at the formations and enjoy a first underground adventure with no technical difficulty.
- Exploration — Crawling, down-climbing, narrow passages: a more sporty progression to feel the true face of caving.
- Vertical & river — Rope descents, meanders and underground rivers for lovers of sensations and big chambers.
Why the Vercors?
Few massifs offer such a variety of caves within minutes of each other. Our instructors choose the cave suited to your wishes and level, with full respect for the fragile, protected underground environment.
Good to know
- Oversuit, helmet, lighting and gear provided.
- Bring warm clothes to wear underneath and boots or old trainers.
- The temperature underground is constant (around 10°C) all year round.
